Panic Point
<<2003-10-05 - 9:00 p.m.>>

There are too many pages to read and too many papers to write and too many people owed phone calls and emails and actually no time in which to do any of these things.

I have once again reached the panic point.

So, of course, I am doing nothing.

One of those nights that I can identify as college-specific: Claire's show and then sitting around the theater after with cast & crew, swigging whiskey from the bottle and sitting on the theater deck smoking and laughing and then going back to Claire's place of residence and dying her hair, lying across her bed appreciating each other, making plans.

Oh, the plans I have if she's really going to come home with me for winter break. Cold picnics in the park (the carousel?), the Knitting Factory, the Blue Note, Tonic...sushi & movies at the Angelika, walking the Brooklyn Bridge, explorations of Chinatown and Little Italy, theater up and down Manhattan (Broadway to East Fourth), and meeting people and oh, museums—the Met, the Guggenheim, the Chelsea galleries, maybe the Neue; all my favorites. And the nothing in particular, the sitting around with friends and cups of tea, dinners on Sixth Street, late nights in my living room with the heaters clanking.

The procrastination MUST STOP.
